Rath Yatra or chariot festival is one of the most awaited world famous festival
in Puri location belongs to Odisha state as well as in India. It is an annual
event which is celebrates in the month of June or July. According to the
traditional odia calendar the festival is celebrate on the 2nd day of the sukla Pakshya Ashadha month. It is
dedicated to Lord Jagannath(Lord
Krishna) his sister Goddess Subhadra & his elder brother Lord Balabhadra
sits on a huge chariot and travel to Gundicha temple(Aunt’s house). It is also
called Gundicha Yatra, chariot festival, Dasavatara & Navadina Yatra.
Jagannath Rath Yatra or the chariot festival is known to be one of the oldest & also the
grandest procession festival. It also finds its mentions in purans of Hinduism
such as Padma Puran, Brahma Puran &
Skanda Puran.
Three
richly decorated chariots resembling temple structural are pulled by a specific
designed rope on streets of Puri. We can see millions of people at that place. We can see three large chariots
with amazing acts which acts indicates how small fine art be possible, it show
amazing talent of the artisian. Chariots are also made based on each &
every rule & regulations as per Hindu Mythology. Each year these wooden
chariots are constructed newly in accordance with religious specifications.
This
yatra such a scared yatra or festival of all types of people like Rich & Poor, Brahmans & Sudras,
Hindu, Muslim, Christian, Buddhism, Sikhs & all the religious equally
enjoy the fair.
The
festival begins with the Rath prathistha
or invoking ceremony in the morning, but Rath pulling is the most exciting part
of this festival, which begins in the late afternoon. Each of these chariots
has different specifications. At that time whole body, mind, and spirits only
echo with spirituality. We feel something different. We can listen frequently
the sound of different Dhun, Devotional music from different instrument. Most
of people are dancing with sacred feeling. Everybody walking, talking &
moving with sacred excitement.
Each
and every facilities is available for piligrimage. Piligrimage also come from
different countries. All facilities provide freely each & every people.
More than hundreds of police platoon, fire service, and special task force are
organized there. So many camps, paying guest are organised to stay. We can see
different types of handloom work of different culture at fair.

his life period & achive ‘Moksh’(Salvation) forever.
